Greening the Rhode Island Economy grew out of the Green Jobs Now challenge to hold some kind of event on this subject on Green Jobs Now Day, September 27, 2008. Interested Rhode Islanders, both individuals and some representing a wide range of local organizations, have met twice to put together a community discussion that will feature US Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Mayor David Cicciline of Providence Saturday morning, Septemer 27. But we see this as part of a continuing, growing effort to Green our state's economy.
This website, created on September 15, 2008, provides ways for Rhode Islanders to find information about what a Green Economy is and how we can develop a Green Economy for Rhode Island. You can join and create blogs and pages on Green Economy resources, and collaborate on issues in forums.
A special feature of the website is a "FEED AGGREGATOR" which gathers the latest news from some relevant websites and displays headlines ~ an easy way to keep up with a topic such as Green Economy. [This site is brand new on September 15 and more feeds and links will be added, but please help out and send additional links to resources and feeds to skorte@greeningrieconomy.com. Many thanks!]
We will continue the RI Green Economy/Jobs discussion with future meetups that you can find out about at this website.
